Gareth Gates qualifies as advisor for speech defects
Pop Idol runner up Gareth Gates, whose stammer was painfully apparant during interviews in the Pop Idol contest has now qualified as being able to assist those with similar speech difficulties. The only problem is that fans are faking stammers just to try to get close to the star so he's having to keep a low profile!

Racing Games on the grid
2004 looks set to be the year of the racing sim with a host of titles ready to build on the success that Project Gotham Racing II on Xbox in 2003.
Gran Turismo 4 on PS2 will of course be the title to judge all others by, but don't forget to try out R:Racing which offers a few things that GT4 can't. And Electronic Arts are looking to join the grid with the news that they will publish Criterion's Burnout 3 game on Xbox, PS2 and GameCube platforms. In many ways PGRII has already built up a big lead, and it remains to be seen whether any of the challengers can catch up.

Air Marshalls not wanted
The British government's proposal to place Air Marshalls on UK planes has not surprsingly met resistance from the airlines. BA have been most outspoken, claiming that they simply won't operate flights where there is a known security threat. Other operators, including Virgin and British Midlands have so far not commented, but they are expected to take a similar stance to that of British Airways.

Credit Card
If you credit and store cards are still wilting from over-use during the festive period, then it's time to find a new one that offers you a good deal on balance transfers. If you can't pay off your existing card immediately it's going to cost you in interest charges, so find a new credit card that will give you 0% finance deal and transfer your debt.
But don't then use that extra credit as an excuse to spend more money. Set yourself the challenge of paying off the new card's debt before the end of the interest free period which will probably be six months or so.

Britney buys Jason a Porsche
Just to prove that there were no ill feelings between Britney Spears and her ex husband of 55 hours Jason Alexander, the diva has bought him a Porsche. Perhaps it was to show her gratitude to him for having the good grace to agree to the annulment without making any claims on her massive earnings.
