Claim back your Tax on unused flights
We're told that millions of UK travellers cancel their cheap flights at the last minute every year. And usually this means that they're not entitled to a refund. But we should at least be entitled to get our tax back if we can be bothered to claim it. Most travellers don't bother. Some simply don't know that they can, and some airlines (but not all) charge an admin fee in some cases, and that can be higher than the value of tax. But the bottom line is that the airlines are reported to be pocketing many millions in taxes that don't need to be handed over to the taxman if you don't actually travel.
